Each athlete is filmed performing a high-speed running kick mirroring the type of kick used in AFL game situations. Our cameras are positioned carefully to record multiple angles enabling our kick-coded software to interpret and measure according to the biomechanical principles outlined in The Low Flat Pass.
This technology produces two key items - Kick Assessment Video and Kick Assessment Report - which are provided to the client. The report and video contain a breakdown of 9 key biomechanical and technical elements critical in high-performance kicks.
Biomechanical Framework

Holding a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise and a Postgraduate Diploma in Secondary Teaching, Stuart McFarlane combines academic training with a lifelong passion for technical skill performance in Australian Rules Football.
As a consultant to the project, he has contributed to the refinement of its biomechanical explanations and to ensuring the accuracy and consistency of its analytical framework.
The framework, at its heart, is governed by three biomechanical principles that underpin the technical analysis of the ideal kicking action.
High Performance Skills Coach
High performance coaching that uses the biomechanical framework in addition to data captured by Kick Motion Technology to transition athletes to elite kicks of the football.
We accurately dissect a players kicking action. Conduct conversations with the athletes pertaining to technique and we find constructive strategies for remedial activities. We set goals and we achieve them quickly.
Player's have access to video review. We record 9 biomechanically coded angles, we maintain data records and we compare against previous records to illustrate technical areas that have improved and the areas that still require attention.
We conduct reviews and conversations regularly. All geared to hosting a positive environment where the player can improve quickly.

AFL
The primary focus for Kick Builders has been with developing elite AFL kicking. We have worked with players from multiple AFL clubs. Developing skills on both sides of the body. Improving goal-kicking and lifting the confidence of those who participate.
RUGBY UNION

The ultimate challenge with skill development is transforming an athlete from their life-long sport and teaching them skills of a new code. At Kick Builders. we have conducted two USA recruitment programs targeting former NFL athletes. We identify, recruit, and train the athletes in preparation for an AFL list spot trial.
